Welcome to our Club

Swindon Phoenix Triathlon Club is a club for junior triathletes in the Swindon and North Wiltshire areas.

The club runs regular training sessions, led by qualified coaches, to prepare young athletes to participate in the exciting sport of triathlon. We are affiliated to Triathlon England, the national governing body for our sport.

About triathlon

Triathlon is an exciting multi-sport consisting of a swim followed by a bike ride and then a run. Races are continuous with no breaks between each discipline, with the clock starting when the competitor begins their swim and stopping at the end of the run.

Junior triathlon race distances vary with the competitor's age, and athletes compete with others of their own age.

Variations of triathlon include duathlons (run-cycle-run) and aquathlon (swim-run) events.

Can I join the club?

We welcome new members aged between 7 and 17.  You don't need to have done any triathlons before joining us. All we ask is that you can swim front crawl with face in the water, take instruction and demonstrate the skill and determination to train appropriately for your age group across the swim, run and bike disciplines.

Training takes place twice a week at Dorcan Leisure Centre. Thursday 6.30pm-8pm consists of a 30 minute run followed by an hour of swimming and Sunday 2.00pm-4.00pm consists of an hour of either running or cycling followed by an hour of swimming. All cycling practice takes place off-road
